Student stories

  • All the tutorials are really hands-on which is very useful

I knew that ECU had an excellent reputation in the field of cyber security and technology studies, and so coming here for my Information Technology degree was a really easy decision to make.

I love everything about ECU: the campus, the knowledgeable and approachable lecturers, and the friends that I've made here. During my last semester, I completed a 12-week work placement at a highly reputable company. This was highly beneficial and a great learning experience.

  • Being part of such a diverse community makes it magical

The environment and vibe at ECU encourages you to put in more effort. I strongly recommend living on campus in the ECU village. Being surrounded by students from all over the world and being part of such a diverse community makes it magical. I'm halfway through my degree, but I can already say that ECU has offered me the resources and circumstances to succeed.

  • The lecturers at ECU are lifelong professionals who have extensive experience in the subjects they are teaching

During my study I've found that the lecturers at ECU are lifelong professionals who have extensive experience in the subjects they are teaching, rather than just an academic background. This makes the lectures very interesting, as we get to learn about real world issues and solutions. There are many opportunities for developing important contacts within the industry. Representing the university at two major industry conferences allowed me to develop critical networks in Federal and State law enforcement, and private industry.
