Graduate Certificate of Secondary Education (English)

This course provides an opportunity for motivated and academically capable teachers to re-train in a learning area of great demand. An emphasis upon both curriculum content and best teaching practice in Western Australian secondary schools is a strong and consistent theme in the pedagogy and content units. The English specialisation provides both a refresher and a consolidation of content skills for teachers who wish to re-train in the teaching of English up to and including Year 10. The course is supported by both highly organised materials and flexible delivery.

Admission requirements

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years appropriate professional experience

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All students are required to have Bachelor of Education. Alternatively students can have a three-year degree and a Graduate Diploma of Education.
