Master of Public Health

Effective from 01-JAN-2017 : Code J14

This research degree consists of a coursework component, followed by a research thesis. The coursework component provides the general knowledge and skills necessary to work in a public health environment, as well as research methods and statistics. The research thesis component enables students to focus in depth on their chosen area of public health.

Admission requirements

Meet the published English language standards and:

  • For a 1 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 8 course in the same discipline; or
  • For a 1.5 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 7 course in the same discipline; or
  • For a 1.5 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 8 course in a different discipline; or
  • For a 2 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 7 course in a different discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years appropriate professional experience.
