This course is designed for students who wish to undertake significant research as part of their postgraduate degree, and can lead to further postgraduate studies or a role as a project leader in innovative areas of computing.

All applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 per cent or higher. Students with an equivalent of eight to eleven Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) units, or whose course did not contain certain expected studies, may be required to complete bridging units, with equivalents considered. Alternatively applicants can apply who have a Graduate Diploma of Science (Computer Studies) with a WAM of 70 per cent or better (students may be required to complete bridging units), with equivalents considered. Additionally applicants must have completed a computing project at a Bachelor or Graduate Diploma level, or have an appropriate level of relevant work experience. Special entry may be considered for students who have relevant experience in the computing industry.
