This research-based degree is designed for graduates of a relevant degree, and comprises of coursework followed by a research component. The interdisciplinary approach recognises that solutions to problems often rely on knowledge gained across traditional disciplines. In the selection of fields of research, students are encouraged to examine the broad perspective within which the problem lies and to adopt problem-solving techniques applicable across disciplines.

All students are required to have a relevant Bachelor degree in Science, with equivalents considered, and students are required to consult with the Course Coordinator before applying.
Students are required to complete a total of 120 credit points during Year 1. In consultation with their nominated Supervisor(s), and with the approval of the Course Coordinator, students will select a number of coursework units chosen from those available within the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science. At least 40 credit points must be classified as research training-based units of study.
