Graduate Certificate of Cyber Security

This Graduate Certificate is designed to meet the demand for cyber security professionals in government, law enforcement, and industry. The course engages with, and provides a pathway for ICT practitioners to progress their careers in the cyber security domain. It is also relevant to those seeking to enter the IT profession who have no previous experience in the cyber security discipline. The course is delivered in an accelerated online mode and offers a highly contemporary and flexible learning experience.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply independent judgement when analysing various cyber security related problems to develop innovative and evidence-based solutions.
  2. Communicate specialised knowledge, concepts and skills to a variety of audiences within the cyber security discipline.
  3. Plan, implement and evaluate technical solutions within the cyber security focused discipline.

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 6)

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirement (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified in the Admissions Policy;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.

Course Duration

  • Full Time: 0.5 Years
  • Part Time: 1 Year

Course Delivery

  • Online: Full Time, Part Time

Non standard timetable requirements

Students undertake one unit at a time in the fully online, accelerated delivery mode (7 weeks).
