ECU’s fully accredited Laws/ Criminology and Justice double degree prepares you for a dynamic career in the corporate and commercial sector by opening multiple avenues of practice in criminology, social justice and the justice system. The law components will examine the nature of crime and social control, as well policing, courts, law, corrections, family law and conflict management. You’ll also gain a comprehensive understanding of criminology and justice in the law, political science, psychology and sociology fields. You’ll have the chance to put theory into practise. There are opportunities to work on real-life cases in our Community Legal Practice unit, compete in mooting competitions nationally and internationally, and be involved in the Law Society Peer Mentoring Program. You can tailor the course to your area of interest by specialising in specific areas of Law, and you can study on-campus or online. You’ll graduate prepared for a career in the courtroom and beyond. Note: Students with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70% or higher (in the LAW only component of this degree) after their fourth year of study may be invited to complete an Honours program. Those students will transfer to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of criminology and Justice for their fifth and final year of study.
