This course enables students to graduate with an advanced research knowledge and understanding in arts, communications or creative industries. The course consists of both research and coursework, and covers research preparation, the preparation of a research proposal, research presentation, the conduct of research and the completion of a thesis. Students may choose from the following discipline areas: Arts: English; History; French; Politics and International Relations; Visual Arts; Fashion and Textiles; and Writing. Communications: Advertising; Journalism; Media, Culture and Mass Communications; Public Relations. Creative Industries: Film and Video; Game Design and Culture; Photomedia; Interactive Media; Animation; Graphic Design; Environmental and Spatial Design.

All students are required to have a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline. Alternatively students can have a Bachelor degree in a different discipline with a relevant Graduate Diploma.
Requirements as at 01-JAN-2017: All students are required to have a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 per cent or higher in their third year, or have a lower WAM and demonstrate the capacity to undertake original Masters-level research. Alternatively students can have a Bachelor degree in a different discipline with a relevant Graduate Diploma.
