Master of Criminal Justice by Research

Effective from 01-JAN-2017 : Code L58

This course is designed to provide advanced, research-based studies in theoretical and applied areas of law and justice. It aims to extend understanding of knowledge in the discipline area alongside knowledge of research methods in law and justice. Students will undertake a significant independent research investigation resulting in a thesis that will have relevance to the law and justice sectors.

Admission requirements

Meet the published English language standards and:

  • For a 1 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 8 course in the same discipline; or
  • For a 1.5 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 7 course in the same discipline; or
  • For a 1.5 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 8 course in a different discipline; or
  • For a 2 year Masters Degree - have completed a Level 7 course in a different discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years appropriate professional experience.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to have achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 per cent or higher in their Bachelor degree. Students who have not achieved this mark may be admitted at the discretion of the Coordinator.
