Graduate Certificate of Misconduct and Corruption Prevention

Are you working in HR, mining, finance or government, including an oversight body or a public sector commission? If you also have an interest in an investigative role looking at misconduct, corruption, bullying or any form of inappropriate workplace behaviour, this course is for you. You’ll acquire skills to understand behaviours and develop policies and procedures to assist in prevention, mitigation, regulation, policing, investigating and managing misconduct. The course will prepare you to enter roles in both private and public organisations. And as a graduate, you’ll also have the opportunity to fast-track your studies in a Master of Criminology and Justice..

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply a specialised understanding of complex and emerging knowledge relevant to the prevention and investigation of misconduct and corruption to various domains of professional practice.
  2. Apply independent judgement to research, evaluate and synthesise complex issues related to the to the prevention and investigation of misconduct and corruption.
  3. Apply communication, collaboration, and reflective skills to create innovative solutions to complex issues in the prevention and investigation of misconduct and corruption.

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 6)

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirement (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified in the Admissions Policy;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to meet the published entry requirements. Successful applicants with a Bachelor degree, or higher, withsignificant coursework in a related field or professional learning in contemporary policing practice or relevant professional practice may seek reduced course duration by applying for recognition of prior learning (up to 20 credit points).

This course has been accredited by ECU as an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate Award.
