Graduate Certificate in Media Strategy and Leadership

The Graduate Certificate in Media Strategy and Leadership aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to elevate their performance in the realm of media leadership. Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Communicate specialised knowledge, concepts and skills to a variety of audiences in the context of media strategy and leadership.
  2. Apply independent judgment when analysing and evaluating complex ideas to engage effectively in media strategy and leadership.
  3. Demonstrate self-management skills by initiating, planning, implementing and evaluating media strategy.

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 6)

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirement (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified in the Admissions Policy;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level

This course has been accredited by ECU as an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate Award.

Course Structure

Students are required to complete 2 core units (totalling 40 credit points) and 1 core option unit (totalling 20 credit points). This course is only offered parttime. If students wish to complete in one year, they may choose to enrol in their core option unit concurrently with a core unit.
