Master of Business Administration

ECU’s 100% online and accelerated MBA is designed to develop highly skilled managers and leaders who can contribute to organisations in an effective and responsible manner. In a globally competitive environment, it is essential to build management capabilities within organisations via an appropriate knowledge base, effective leadership and a culture that is conducive to innovation and advancement. This program provides students with the ability to respond to challenging situations in complex and modern organisations. It also builds and further develops problem- solving skills, and effective engagement with industry. Through the selection of a specialisation, students may choose to deepen their learning in one specific area of interest. Alternatively, they may seek to build breadth in their knowledge base through undertaking electives from the range of discipline areas.

Course Learning Outcomes

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 6)

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirement (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified in the Admissions Policy;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to meet the published entry requirements. All applicants are required to have a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years of relevant supervisory/management experience; or equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience of which at least three of these years must be at a supervisory/management level. Special entry may be considered for students with an Australian Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in Business/Commerce who can apply for a reduced course duration: 1.5 years full time (3 years part time) – 180 credit points.
