Diploma in Aviation

This course provides a flexible study option for pilots and aviation professionals who are already working in the aviation industry and wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills through a tertiary program in aviation in order to expand their career options and flexibility. Whilst the Diploma qualification will be attractive in its own right, it also provides a pathway into a full degree program in Aviation with an additional two years of study.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply aviation knowledge and concepts to one or more technical and theoretical Aviation situations.
  2. Think critically to analyse and interpret information from a range of sources.
  3. Think creatively to express ideas and formulate aviation specific responses.
  4. Use digital technologies and literacies to access, analyse and synthesise relevant information from multiple sources.
  5. Communicate aviation knowledge, sharing perspectives and transferring knowledge and skills to others within the professional domain.
  6. Show personal responsibility, autonomy and independent judgement, demonstrating knowledge in contexts that are subject to change.

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 2)

All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published (where applicable) or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Year 12 completion or equivalent.

English Language requirement (Band 2)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • Year 12 General English grade C or better;
  • Special Tertiary Admissions Test; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.
