Bachelor of Health Science Honours

This course qualifies individuals to apply a body of knowledge in a public health context to undertake professional work, and provides a pathway for research and further learning. Graduates will have coherent and advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts in a population health discipline and knowledge of research principles and methods.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply high level, independent judgement and initiative when analysing and evaluating complex public health problems to generate creative solutions.
  2. Communicate advanced public health knowledge, concepts and skills to diverse audiences.
  3. Demonstrate self-management skills to plan and execute public health research project work with some independence.

Admission requirements

  • Students will only be admitted to Honours where the specified weighted average mark is achieved in preceding studies.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Health Science degree and normally require a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 per cent or higher, with equivalents considered.

Portfolio pathway applications are not accepted for this course.
