This course focuses on developing a wide range of professional and communication skills through a hands-on approach to traditional and new media. It provides students with skills in research and writing, and critical and creative thinking. Theory and practice go hand in hand within this course, and inform each other across all of the available specialisations. As well as giving the knowledge required to succeed in a dynamic communication and cultural environment, the course provides students with the skills to adapt and thrive in facing and responding to challenges in a range of communication and cultural fields.

Academic admission standard for the following entry pathways:
Students are required to complete a Core unit set, plus 4 Elective units relating to a specialised area, and an 8-unit Major. This will be supported by a supplementary program, comprising of a second 8-unit Major, or two 4-unit Minors, or a 4-unit Minor and 4 Elective units, or 8 Elective units.
