Description

This unit refines and consolidates the creative physical capacity of the actor and specific physical processes for imaginative realization. The classes demand a highly skilled dexterous ability, adaptability and responsiveness for inventive, detailed and imaginative work in performance. The classes call for rigour, discipline and self -management. All practices undertaken will support the movement knowledge for the actor as they prepare to enter the industry. All classes are designed to be challenging, inventive and will be presented in a workshop format.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Function effectively and independently in an advanced masterclass training environment.
  2. Create, direct and improvise movement sequences.
  3. Develop and articulate a personal physical program for stage and screen.
  4. Inhabit an articulate, adaptable and responsive physicality.
  5. Be able to respond professionally and constructively to feedback and apply to work.
  6. Create highly detailed and consistent physical performance for stage and screen from preparation, rehearsal to production.

  2. Written personal physical preparation plan.
  3. Feedback, professional conduct and constructive criticism.
  4. Inventing, designing and directing movement.

Additional Learning Experience Information

Movement studio, intensive workshops, small group solo and duo exercises, video recording for analysis, in studio performance to students and staff. Self-reflection, observation and class feedback and discussion.
