Description

The development of creative ideas, realisation and execution of those ideas, is a core benefit that an advertising agency offers its clients. This unit analyses the importance of creativity, innovation and design with respect to contemporary consumers’ wants, needs and behaviours with a view to developing and producing a persuasive creative campaign. Brand management, image and corporate identification are all evaluated in relation to the consumer with numerous industry examples to enhance key aspects.

Students must pass units ADV1116, ADV2107

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Evaluate what makes ethical and successful advertisements.
  2. Interpret the relationship between consumer preferences and effective message design.
  3. Compose a creative strategy that addresses a given audience, appropriate message objectives.
  4. Develop and execute a creative brief based on strategy and objectives.

Unit Content

  1. The translation of ideas into effective advertising message design.
  2. Theories of creative tactics to enhance brand awareness and identification.
  3. Creative briefing and strategy development.
  4. Guidelines for evaluating advertising creative work.

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
