Description

This unit examines leadership strategies in the application of leadership and management to a project based in the health care environment. It provides students with the opportunity to use leadership concepts and skills, and to operate as change agents in order to lead and manage a work related change process.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 2 units from CDS7000, SCL7000

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Communicate with stakeholders and build partnerships.
  2. Critically appraise resistance to change in the context of leadership theories and styles.
  3. Demonstrate authoritative judgement in the application of leadership skills to the process of change management.
  4. Develop, adapt and implement a change management project using a business case approach.
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of change management theories for the health care environment.
