In this unit students initiate the conception, design and execution of an independent arts project in their chosen area of specialism. They will receive guidance from experienced staff or industry practitioners. Depending on the nature of the independent project, it may be undertaken entirely within the research context on campus, or where appropriate, students will be connected with a particular industry partner or placement opportunity. Students will develop their ability to work independently and unsupervised towards a project they have planned, researched and executed. The unit provides an opportunity to develop analytical, creative and technical skills in the service of a special project about which the student is passionate.
