Description

Ideas and production concepts are discussed and resolved through the production of creative or technical work(s) in one or more media. A professional level of accomplishment in the discipline will allow the student to independently initiate original work and processes, through a range of skill based workshops and lecturers. This unit may be undertaken in one of the following disciplines: costume, design, lighting, sound, stage management or props and scenery.

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Select appropriate strategies for problem solving.
  2. Apply procedures that support diverse production requirements.
  3. Practice safe and efficient work habits in the workplace.
  4. Discuss the technical and aesthetic aspects of a production for a particular discipline.

  1. Reviewing pre-production strategies and technique.
  2. Applying critical thinking to production processes.
  3. Problem analysis and resolution.
  4. Advanced production processes, techniques and methods.
  5. Advanced product development and construction.
  6. Resolving ideas and concepts in practical applications.
  7. Safe and efficient work practices.
