Description

This unit provides practical preparation for working in contemporary broadcast media. It covers the preparation of radio content, production and presentation. The skills will include reading, ad-libbing and interviewing. Technical skills include operation of the studio equipment, digital audio recording and editing. Students will be producing material to run Radio ECU and will be expected to volunteer their time outside of their study period.

Prerequisite Rule

Must pass BRO2025 Broadcasting Skills

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Source and research stories for radio with content written that is appropriately suited to the target audience.
  2. Demonstrate a high level of competence in the production of radio material using studio equipment and digital audio recording and editing software.
  3. Deliver programs on Radio ECU that showcases vocal skills with appropriate moderation of technique for reading, interviewing or ad-libbing.
