Description

This unit gives students a practical introduction to radio production. It includes radio studio equipment, program scheduling software, operation of portable recording equipment and audio editing. Students will be expected to devise and create radio programs incorporating a range of commonly used audio items.

Non Standard Timetable Requirements

This unit requires a minimum commitment of 4 days a week, full time.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Analyse and apply radio production practices.
  2. Operate typical portable recording equipment.
  3. Operate typical radio studio equipment and software.
  4. Produce a range of audio items to industry standard.
  5. Produce radio programs to industry standard.
  6. Produce scripts using radio copywriting techniques.
