This unit provides advanced students with the opportunity to undertake supervised work in a professional capacity. Students are responsible for finding the placement. Reporting back to the unit tutor, students undertake their attachment to a relevant workplace. The number of hours worked each week is negotiated between the student and workplace supervisor. A learning contract, entered into by student, workplace supervisor and tutor determines the specific content and teaching and learning processes, together with the skills and competencies to be acquired and demonstrated. A personal career-focused resume and portfolio will be developed by the student to reflect the professional experience.
Course average of 70% or higher, plus an informal interview determined by the unit coordinator

Professional placement work experience of 120 hours. The scope and form of the placement will be agreed upon by the student, agency/organisation and unit tutor prior to the commencement of the placement. The placement will be undertaken at times convenient to the agency/organisation and the student, and will be supervised primarily by the organisation.
