In this unit students will be involved in community arts projects and learn key skills for at the levels of practitioner and facilitator. Students will cover topics such as arts funding, project management, communication strategies, arts policy, administrative and legal considerations.
WRT3212 Community Writing
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
Lectures, workshops and collaboration with community groups and organisations.

Due to the professional competency skill development associated with this Unit, student attendance/participation within listed in-class activities and/or online activities including discussion boards is compulsory. Students failing to meet participation standards as outlined in the unit plan may be awarded an I Grade (Fail - incomplete). Students who are unable to meet this requirement for medical or other reasons must seek the approval of the unit coordinator.

In this unit students will be involved in community arts projects and acquire skills and knowledge to help them to act as practitioners and facilitators in community arts contexts. Students will explore the concept, function, and potential of community arts by considering some of its social and political implications. Students will participate in various practical activities such as presenting workshops and undertaking work experience, as well as covering topics such as project management, communication strategies, and arts policies.
