Description

This unit introduces students to what is distinctive about Catholic schools, what is needed for these schools to be effective places of learning and the importance of the teacher within the Catholic School. The unit is designed for students considering teaching in Catholic schools in Western Australia. Completion of three Catholic Education units forms part of the accreditation requirements to teach in Catholic schools. On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Explain the essential elements of a "good" school.
  2. Identify the distinctive features of the culture of Catholic schools.

  4. Evaluate the ways in which Catholic schools present themselves publicly to the wider community.
