This unit introduces students to Catholic beliefs and practices expressed in 'creeds of faith' and the religious celebrations known as 'sacraments'. Knowledge and understanding of 'creed' and 'sacraments' will be linked to the teaching of the Religious Education Program (Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary) in Catholic schools. Completion of three Catholic Education units forms part of the accreditation requirements to teach in Catholic schools. This unit introduces students to Catholic beliefs and practices expressed in 'creeds of faith' and the religious celebrations known as 'sacraments'. Knowledge and understanding of 'creed' and 'sacraments' will be linked to implications for teachers in Catholic schools in Western Australia. Students will be supported in building the required skills for critical analysis, evaluation, application and the integration of unit content.
