This unit advances the student's knowledge of mental health theory and practice. Aspects of mental health care including psychopathology, treatment modalities, models of care, medico-legal issues in care and changing trends in the provision of care in the mental health setting will be explored. Students will be expected to be self-directed in examining issues relating to clinical practice in the mental health service context.

Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
Students will engage and learn through a range of interactive and contemporary methods and learning modes. These include on-campus tutorials, online learning, virtual environments, discussion boards, interactive web cases/quizzes, and e-reading packages.
