Description

Students will work with an academic supervisor to investigate a defined research problem, identify appropriate research methodologies and conduct data collection and analysis as appropriate. A written thesis will be developed and submitted for examination, detailing the outcome of the research activities.

Prerequisite Rule

(Students must pass 1 unit from CSG4141, CSG5127 AND Students must pass 1 unit from RES4115, RES5115)

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Apply selected methodology to the solution of the research problem.
  2. Communicate their research via a seminar on their Honours Project.
  3. Developan Honours Project report in a specified format.
  4. Implement the necessary steps to investigate the research problem according to the procedures and time-lines proposed in the research proposal.

Unit Content

  1. The student will work under the supervision of an academic supervisor to complete and document a research project.

Additional Learning Experience Information

In the Honours Project units the student will implement and prepare for submission the project proposed in CSG5127 Research Proposal. The implementation will be closely supervised by the appointed project supervisor. The resultant thesis shall be submitted for examination.
