Description

This unit involves the selection of a Master-level research topic and the preparation of a research proposal.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Identify an appropriate Master-level research project.
  2. Critically analyse the literature relevant to the project.
  3. Formulate appropriate research questions and methodologies based on current knowledge in the computing or security disciplines.

Unit Content

  1. The nature and scope of a research project.
  2. Literature survey and review.
  3. Development of research questions.
  4. Research methodologies and designs.
  5. Development of a project proposal.
