Description

Investigation of the research problem; data collection and data analysis by applying appropriate methods and techniques; written and verbal reporting on the progress of research - its achievements, as well as any problems encountered.

Prerequisite Rule

Must have passed CSG6123 OR CSG6207

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Undertake research methodologies appropriate for proposed research study and to work effectively with their appointed supervisor(s).
  2. Design and undertake research.
  3. Communicate research findings to discipline experts.
  4. Contribute advanced knowledge to the field of computing or security science through a thesis which is consistent with supervisors expectations and university research policy guidelines.

  1. The preparation and submission of the Master thesis.
  2. The presentation of a seminar on the area of study as required.
  3. The structure of a Master thesis.
  4. The study for the Master thesis.
