This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to rehearse and perform as a member of a group in a musical theatre performance. While supervision and guidance are provided in practice sessions and rehearsals, performers are expected to display a high level of motivation and responsibility for themselves and others when it comes to applying their acting, dancing and singing skills in a live performance context. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.

Performance evidence of the ability to perform as an ensemble member before an audience in at least one musical theatre production integrate singing, dancing, acting, voice and movement skills in the role performed, follow safe movement and vocal practices during rehearsals and performances, demonstrate progression of performance skills over the rehearsal period, improve own performance in response to constructive feedback, contribute to evaluations of performances, respond appropriately to performance context and contingencies that arise, work collaboratively with production team members and other performers. Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided for each of the above points at least once.
