This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage the installation and set-up of equipment required to realise designs for vision systems used on either a temporary or permanent basis in the screen, media, entertainment and events industries. Individuals who apply these skills are expected to display a high level of initiative, judgement and responsibility as they supervise the installation and operation of vision systems. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Evidence of the ability to: - interpret vision system designs and develop workable plans for the installation of equipment and accessories to meet requirements - supervise the installation and operation of vision system equipment for at least one client, production or event - work collaboratively.
To complete the unit requirements the individual must: - explain factors that need to be considered depending on whether vision systems are being installed on a temporary or permanent basis - explain issues that need to be considered when implementing automated and interactive vision systems and those with multiple input sources and output and display devices - explain technical requirements and constraints associated with installing and operating a range of vision systems - describe costing and budget issues associated with implementing vision system designs - describe typical formats for documenting vision system installation plans - describe processes and procedures typically used to ensure version control for draft and final plans - explain work health and safety issues to be considered when installing and operating vision systems.
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to: - appropriate practice and performance space - resources and equipment used to develop basic acting skills. Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.

Breaches of academic integrity can include:
Copying the words, ideas or creative works of other people or generative artificial intelligence tools, without referencing in accordance with stated University requirements. Students need to seek approval from the Unit Coordinator within the first week of study if they intend to use some of their previous work in an assessment task (self-plagiarism).
Working with other students and submitting the same or substantially similar work or portions of work when an individual submission was required. This includes students knowingly providing others with copies of their own work to use in the same or similar assessment task(s).
Organising a friend, a family member, another student or an external person or organisation (e.g. through an online website) to complete or substantially edit or refine part or all of an assessment task(s) on their behalf.
Using or having access to unauthorised materials in an exam or test.
Serious outcomes may be imposed if a student is found to have committed one of these breaches, up to and including expulsion from the University for repeated or serious acts.
