Description

Computer assisted drawing and design using AutoCAD and Pro/Desktop, for 3D Solid Modelling. Creating, editing, manipulating and presenting designs.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate competency and expertise in a range of orthographic and geometrical drawings.
  2. Demonstrate competency and expertise in three dimensional AutoCAD.
  3. Demonstrate competency and expertise in three dimensional Pro/Desktop.
  4. Describe and discuss terminology, hardware and software features, and advantages and limitations of CAD.
  5. Input and output drawings with the available computers, peripheral devices, and software
  6. Perform disk and file management under Windows, and

  1. Development of orthogonal drawing.
  2. Development of the Australian Standard Drawing practices.
  3. Introduction to AutoCAD 3D solids modeling.
  4. Introduction to Pro/Desktop 3D solids modeling.
  5. Introduction to solid geometrical construction.
