This unit provides an introduction to the Technologies Learning Area. It develops the students confidence and competence in the use of a range of resources to resolve issues in an enterprising manner. The philosophical basis and values of the learning area are explored through rich tasks. Students understanding of pedagogical approaches for the classroom is developed through an examination of current research. The content and methodology are examined in relation to learning and development to meet the needs of a diverse range of children.
Students must have completed PPA1260 and PPA2360.

On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
The unit will be covered through the combination of lectures, collaborative problem solving workshops, discussion of and reflection on relevant readings and exploration of teaching practice videos.
