This unit will position lower secondary science curricula against the essential science concepts necessary for effective teaching in the lower secondary school. The unit provides opportunities to refresh and consolidate the conceptual understandings needed for teaching in this learning area. The unit is designed to allow students to explore the nature of scientific inquiry and to develop their understanding of the process of science, as well as to strengthen their skills in handling laboratory equipment likely to be used in lower secondary science classes.
