Description

Within the context of innovative technologies, evolving cultures, and challenging directions in the contemporary local and international climate, students will work with elements of locating the fashion collection through exhibition and/or performance. Understanding of the design process, the ability to contextually reflect upon the concept, and the creative integration of theory and applied skills will culminate in an individual exhibition of a thematic visual project.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 1 units from FAS3205

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Create and refine a self-directed body of work that explores ideas and context for exhibition and/or parade performance.
  2. Develop concept for the parade and/or exhibition of the collection.
  3. Discuss the theoretical and historical context of their thematic work.
  4. Formulate research information into a written proposal and timeline.
  5. Work as part of a team to develop and present a collection to an audience in a performance and/or exhibition context.

Unit Content

  1. Conducting a critical dialogue about the collection and performance concept.
  2. Conducting self directed research.
  3. Developing a personal praxis.
  4. Developing the exhibition and/or parade performance context.
  5. Presenting work in performance and/or exhibition.
  6. Producing and presenting a collection and/or body of creative work.
