Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
- Identify key movements in cinema.
- Describe key theoretical frameworks in filmic analysis.
- Discuss aesthetic possibilities in film and cinema.
- Apply techniques in film analysis.
Unit Content
- An overview of the history of film and cinema.
- Exploration and analysis of key cinematic movements.
- Explanation and examination of major theoretical approaches developed in Film Study.
- Film essay writing.
Learning Experience
Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
