Description

The unit teaches professional practice within recognised industry roles in screen production. Students receive in-class practical instruction in both studio and location production techniques. Students work in small groups on assessment projects.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 1 units from FAV1120 Introduction to Screen Production

Equivalent Rule

Unit was previously coded FAV2101, FAV4101

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Competently operate camera, lighting, sound and editing equipment.
  2. Interpret scripts into visual language.
  3. Identify and perform the tasks associated with individual production roles.
  4. Produce effective screen sequences using a collaborative team approach.

Unit Content

  1. Technical instruction and safe working practice.
  2. Screen production roles in the industry.
  3. Storyboarding and adapting scripts to the filmic form.
  4. Production management techniques.
