Description

This unit provides an introduction to the multimodal nature of teaching and learning in the 21st century. Specific focus is given to the sourcing, evaluation and management of digital resources in order to engage children, embrace the wider community, and to develop confidence in facilitating teaching and learning in future environments. Students will develop practical skills in creating and evaluating digital resources with audio/video components for teaching, learning and assessment that embed technology across the curriculum.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Create and evaluate digital resources to enhance learning experiences during workplace integrated learning and future teaching.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the National Teacher Standards.
  3. Demonstrate evidence of critical awareness of the application of multimodal pedagogies.
  4. Implement and evaluate user generated digital resources.
  5. Locate and manage digital resources for the use in planning, teaching and learning cycle.
