Description

This unit provides students with the opportunity to participate in the development of a multimedia project located in an industry environment, and to make a significant contribution to the team based development. Students negotiate with their lecturer regarding the nature of the project, which is aimed at fulfilling an industry need. Students work with industry clients to participate in the development of a multimedia product with intended application and use in industry settings. Students also investigate and apply skills in critical analysis of the project management method; design and implementation of evaluation, implementation and maintenance strategies. In addition, students focus on developing preferred team roles to help clarify their career focus.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 1 units from IMM3228

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Describe and implement designs that cater for cross-cultural and international users.
  2. Develop a well-supported project charter and design specifications that are substantiated by research data to justify proposed design ideas/solutions.
  3. Develop and present a portfolio and resume in a format appropriate to a variety of contexts and audiences.
  4. Develop effective procedures, templates, and skills needed to establish personal strengths in an interactive media development team.
  5. Discuss project management issues involved in the design and development of interactive media products.
  6. Participate and make a significant contribution to the development of a team-based interactive media project.
  7. Present a seminar to a large group audience showing the features of their interactive media product.
  8. Review and implement social and environmental sustainability in the project development process where necessary and relevant to chosen industry project.

  5. Quality assurance procedures, metrics and documentation.
