Project quality management describes the processes required to ensure that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken. There are three phases in this process: quality planning which includes identifying which quality standards are relevant to the project, determining how to satisfy them and how and when they'll be measured; quality assurance which involves periodic evaluation to ensure that project inputs and outcomes will satisfy the relevant quality standards; and, quality control which involves monitoring specific project results to ensure that they comply with the relevant quality standards while identifying ways to improve both product and process. Project risk management also describes the processes required to ensure the risks in a project are managed in order to guard against project failure. Risk management processes in a project involve: identifying and documenting risks; analysing and prioritising risks; and developing, implementing and monitoring response plans.

Students attend a three hour seminar per week over one semester. Learning activities and assignments will develop communication and analytical abilities of students as well as providing opportunities to discover, discuss and apply theory in a meaningful context. Assessment methods are designed to encourage and facilitate learning. They provide teams of students with the opportunity to undertake research to determine how the knowledge, skills and attitudes they have acquired are used in the contemporary workplace and to analyse these practices. This provides exposure to the workplace, networking opportunities and community engagement. Online students will access the program via Blackboard regular online access is required.
