In this unit, students complete a work-based, consulting, or applied research project designed to enhance innovative capability within an organisation. The aim of the unit is to assist students in applying their knowledge and skills to unstructured, authentic problems through dynamic interaction within a genuine and often changeable engagement context for the benefit of diverse stakeholders.
This unit will be offered in an accelerated mode over six weeks.

This unit will be offered in an accelerated mode over six weeks. Students’ will navigate resources, videos, academic and non-academic readings in order to engage with, and complete, weekly learning activities and assessments and will have access to a learning facilitator, who can respond to their queries, and provide tailored feedback on tasks. This unit provides an applied learning experience that consolidates and demonstrates learning in the postgraduate program as well as producing useful results for real organisations.c Students’ must complete their project on an approved public, private or non-profit organisation. The unit aims to integrate knowledge acquired over each student's degree studies. It requires the application of that knowledge to authentic, real-life organisational / industry settings,, resulting in the provision of evidence-supported business solutions that are actionable by the organisation/ industry. Through undertaking their project, students’ will be expected to effectively perform and meet both the needs of their assigned organisation, as well as complete the unit's assessment requirements. Students’ are expected to work autonomously, show initiative and generate ideas relating to their assigned tasks in the workplace.

Integrity is a core value at Edith Cowan University, and it is expected that ECU students complete their assessment tasks honestly and with acknowledgement of other people's work as well as any generative artificial intelligence tools that may have been used. This means that assessment tasks must be completed individually (unless it is an authorised group assessment task) and any sources used must be referenced.
Breaches of academic integrity can include:
Copying the words, ideas or creative works of other people or generative artificial intelligence tools, without referencing in accordance with stated University requirements. Students need to seek approval from the Unit Coordinator within the first week of study if they intend to use some of their previous work in an assessment task (self-plagiarism).
Working with other students and submitting the same or substantially similar work or portions of work when an individual submission was required. This includes students knowingly providing others with copies of their own work to use in the same or similar assessment task(s).
Organising a friend, a family member, another student or an external person or organisation (e.g. through an online website) to complete or substantially edit or refine part or all of an assessment task(s) on their behalf.
Using or having access to unauthorised materials in an exam or test.
Serious outcomes may be imposed if a student is found to have committed one of these breaches, up to and including expulsion from the University for repeated or serious acts.
