This unit forms the foundation of the Graduate Diploma in Aeromedical Retrieval. The unit incorporates a review of the retrieval services operating within WA, Australia and internationally. Particular focus is placed on retrieval services operating in challenging geographical territory. The unit introduces concepts which underpin a systematic approach to aeromedical retrieval, including key topics such as communications, prioritisation, aeromedical crew composition, tasking and logistics. Principles of clinical coordination and quality systems in aeromedical services are established.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
