This unit involves the identification and implementation of a Master of Science Research Project.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Identify an appropriate project.
  2. Develop an acceptable proposal for the project.
  3. Review and analyse the literature relevant to the project.
  4. Present the project proposal at a research seminar.

Unit Content

  1. The nature and scope of a research project.
  2. Development of a project proposal.
  3. Literature survey and review.
  4. Presentation of a research seminar.

Additional Learning Experience Information

Following initial consultations with the unit co-ordinator and potential supervisors, the student will select a topic of interest. Thereafter the student will liaise with the supervisor on relevant literature, and the development and presentation of the proposal at a research seminar.
