This unit expands on MMS5102 covering advanced clinical management of patients during aeromedical retrieval. Through evaluation of case scenarios, student focus is on more complex clinical presentations including patients with sepsis, respiratory failure and major trauma who require inotropic and ventilatory support. Capabilities in patient resuscitation, preparation of patients for retrieval and clinical procedural skills are developed.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
Literature review, case study, workshops or webcasts, online activities, audio-visual materials.
