Description

This unit represents the final focal point for the various performance techniques in acting, song and dance studies in regular classes throughout all semesters of the course, by the rehearsal and performance of major musical theatre productions.

Prerequisite Rule

Students must pass 1 units from MTH2142

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate high level performance skills in all areas of solo and ensemble acting.
  2. Demonstrate principles of physical and psychological sustainability in performance.
  3. Embody a professional work ethic commensurate with industry and international standards.

Unit Content

  1. The rehearsal and performance of roles in a variety of musical theatre works, with orchestra. Graduating students deemed suitable by the Music Theatre department staff will prepare and perform, both locally and inter-state, a showcase audition programme for agents, directors and other industry representatives.
