This unit introduces students to composing and producing music in the 21st century, asking the question "what is the purpose of music composition?" It explores communicative, narrative and experimental approaches to this issue, through the creation of original works for a range of media and genres. Students also attend a composer workshop where they will hear students composition work, visiting artists and demonstrations.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
