Jazz improvisation techniques of the Bebop and Post-bop era are studied in this unit in order to develop student’s facility in the technical and stylistic aspects of improvisation. Medium complexity level bebop repertoire will be used as the basis for these improvisations, extending harmonic and rhythmic ability within improvisation.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:
