Description

Instrumental workshops further develop technical abilities of the students on their chosen instruments. Specialist projects will also be offered during project weeks that will enable students to choose from a selection of diverse topics related to their studies.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate general technical aspects of their chosen instrument.
  2. Display techniques used by the prominent jazz figures on their chosen instrument through transcription performance.
  3. Further develop upon skills relevant to furthering their careers.

Unit Content

  1. Performance and career related optional topics.
  2. Specific instrumental technical processes.
  3. Stylistic repetition of instrument specific techniques within the jazz genre.
