Description

In this unit students will develop advanced skills specific to large ensemble through public performances. Students will apply and demonstrate these advanced skills in sight-reading and through complex Contemporary Music repertoire. Each student will also apply their individual programme of study that extends the depth and breadth of their studies.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Apply advanced musical skills to a range of projects.
  2. Demonstrate an acceptable level of progress in large ensembles skills.
  3. Demonstrate strong progress in reading music.
  4. Perform to an advanced level in a large ensemble.

Unit Content

  1. Advanced ensemble performance and interpretational skills.
  2. Advanced music reading skills.
  3. Advanced rehearsal techniques.
  4. Assigned public performances during the semester.
  5. Project organisation and collaborative learning methods.

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
